Hello there! I'm Ruthie, the owner and heart behind Ruthie Anne Photography here in Knoxville, TN. I have the incredible privilege of serving alongside my associate photographer, Joshua, and together we have the joy of capturing love stories for the most amazing couples. It's an honor to preserve the moments that matter most, creating timeless images you'll cherish for a lifetime.
Every person has a story that is beautifully unique—one worthy of being told, shared, remembered, honored, and celebrated. There is nothing more fulfilling to me than preserving those stories and transforming fleeting moments into lasting memories. That is the heart of why I create.
I believe visual storytelling is one of the most meaningful and powerful forms of communication. It has the ability to capture not only how a moment looked, but how it felt—the quiet glances, joyful laughter, heartfelt embraces, and the emotions that words alone often cannot express.
As a designer and artist by trade, I discovered my true passion in wedding and lifestyle photography. My purpose is to document the moments that matter most, creating timeless images that allow you to relive your memories for years to come.
Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. What began as a lifelong passion has grown into the greatest privilege of my career: telling love stories, celebrating life's milestones, and preserving the moments that become part of your legacy.

Besides being a photographer, I am married to the MOST amazing man and together we have two precious babies. We live in the East Tennessee area and enjoy hiking, music, and spending our evenings making and eating ice cream(I love desserts)! And that's just the thing... I believe that the little moments in life are what matter the most.

Joshua is a Knoxville-based photographer and visual storyteller who brings a calm presence, creative eye, and genuine care for people to every wedding day.
With a background in dance and the performing arts, he has a natural understanding of movement, emotion, and human connection. That experience helps him offer thoughtful direction without making you feel overly posed, so you can relax, stay present, and enjoy the day as it unfolds.
Joshua is especially drawn to the moments you may not realize are happening: the anticipation before the ceremony, a glance exchanged across the room, your closest people laughing together, and all the small interactions that make the day feel like yours. His approach blends documentary storytelling with timeless, cinematic portraiture, creating photographs that feel both beautiful and true to you.
As part of Ruthie’s photography team, Joshua works with the same care and intention you can expect throughout your entire experience. Whether he is photographing alongside Ruthie or serving as the lead associate photographer, his goal is to make you feel comfortable, supported, and confident that every meaningful part of your celebration is being thoughtfully preserved.
